1：1以色列的众子，各带家眷和雅各一同来到埃及，他们的名字记在下面。
Now　these　are　the　names　of　the　children　of　Israel；　which　came　into　Egypt；　every　man　and　his　household　came　with　Jacob。
1：2有流便，西缅，利未，犹大，
Reuben；　Simeon；　Levi；　and　Judah；
1：3以萨迦，西布伦，便雅悯，
Issachar；　Zebulun；　and　Benjamin；
1：4但，拿弗他利，迦得，亚设。
Dan；　and　Naphtali；　Gad；　and　Asher。
1：5凡从雅各而生的，共有七十人。约瑟已经在埃及。
And　all　the　souls　that　came　out　of　the　loins　of　Jacob　were　seventy　souls：　for　Joseph　was　in　Egypt　already。
1：6约瑟和他的弟兄，并那一代的人都死了。
And　Joseph　died；　and　all　his　brethren；　and　all　that　generation。
1：7以色列人生养众多，并且繁茂，极其强盛，满了那地。
And　the　children　of　Israel　were　fruitful；　and　increased　abundantly；　and　multiplied；　and　waxed　exceeding　mighty；　and　the　land　was　filled　with　them。
1：8有不认识约瑟的新王起来，治理埃及，
Now　there　arose　up　a　new　king　over　Egypt；　which　knew　not　Joseph。
1：9对他的百姓说，看哪，这以色列民比我们还多，又比我们强盛。
And　he　said　unto　his　people；　Behold；　the　people　of　the　children　of　Israel　are　more　and　mightier　than　we：
1：10来吧，我们不如用巧计待他们，恐怕他们多起来，日后若遇什么争战的事，就连合我们的仇敌攻击我们，离开这地去了。
e　on；　let　us　deal　wisely　with　them；　lest　they　multiply；　and　it　e　to　pass；　that；　when　there　falleth　out　any　war；　they　join　also　unto　our　enemies；　and　fight　against　us；　and　so　get　them　up　out　of　the　land。
1：11于是埃及人派督工的辖制他们，加重担苦害他们。他们为法老建造两座积货城，就是比东和兰塞。
Therefore　they　did　set　over　them　taskmasters　to　afflict　them　with　their　burdens。　And　they　built　for　Pharaoh　treasure　cities；　Pithom　and　Raamses。
1：12只是越发苦害他们，他们越发多起来，越发蔓延，埃及人就因以色列人愁烦。
But　the　more　they　afflicted　them；　the　more　they　multiplied　and　grew。　And　they　were　grieved　because　of　the　children　of　Israel。
1：13埃及人严严地使以色列人作工，
And　the　Egyptians　made　the　children　of　Israel　to　serve　with　rigour：
1：14使他们因作苦工觉得命苦，无论是和泥，是作砖，是作田间各样的工，在一切的工上都严严地待他们。
And　they　made　their　lives　bitter　with　hard　bondage；　in　morter；　and　in　brick；　and　in　all　manner　of　service　in　the　field：　all　their　service；　wherein　they　made　them　serve；　was　with　rigour。
1：15有希伯来的两个收生婆，一名施弗拉，一名普阿，埃及王对她们说，
And　the　king　of　Egypt　spake　to　the　Hebrew　midwives；　of　which　the　name　of　the　one　was　Shiphrah；　and　the　name　of　the　other　Puah：
1：16你们为希伯来妇人收生，看她们临盆的时候，若是男孩，就把他杀了，若是女孩，就留她存活。
And　he　said；　When　ye　do　the　office　of　a　midwife　to　the　Hebrew　women；　and　see　them　upon　the　stools；　if　it　be　a　son；　then　ye　shall　kill　him：　but　if　it　be　a　daughter；　then　she　shall　live。
1：17但是收生婆敬畏神，不照埃及王的吩咐行，竟存留男孩的性命。
But　the　midwives　feared　God；　and　did　not　as　the　king　of　Egypt　manded　them；　but　saved　the　men　children　alive。
1：18埃及王召了收生婆来，说，你们为什么作这事，存留男孩的性命呢。
And　the　king　of　Egypt　called　for　the　midwives；　and　said　unto　them；　Why　have　ye　done　this　thing；　and　have　saved　the　men　children　alive？
1：19收生婆对法老说，因为希伯来妇人与埃及妇人不同，希伯来妇人本是健壮的（原文作活泼的），收生婆还没有到，她们已经生产了。
And　the　midwives　said　unto　Pharaoh；　Because　the　Hebrew　women　are　not　as　the　Egyptian　women；　for　they　are　lively；　and　are　delivered　ere　the　midwives　e　in　unto　them。
1：20神厚待收生婆。以色列人多起来，极其强盛。
Therefore　God　dealt　well　with　the　midwives：　and　the　people　multiplied；　and　waxed　very　mighty。
1：21收生婆因为敬畏神，神便叫她们成立家室。
And　it　came　to　pass；　because　the　midwives　feared　God；　that　he　made　them　houses。
1：22法老吩咐他的众民说，以色列人所生的男孩，你们都要丢在河里，一切的女孩，你们要存留她的性命。
And　Pharaoh　charged　all　his　people；　saying；　Every　son　that　is　born　ye　shall　cast　into　the　river；　and　every　daughter　ye　shall　save　alive。

2：1有一个利未家的人娶了一个利未女子为妻。
And　there　went　a　man　of　the　house　of　Levi；　and　took　to　wife　a　daughter　of　Levi。
2：2那女人怀孕，生一个儿子，见他俊美，就藏了他三个月，
And　the　woman　conceived；　and　bare　a　son：　and　when　she　saw　him　that　he　was　a　goodly　child；　she　hid　him　three　months。
2：3后来不能再藏，就取了一个蒲草箱，抹上石漆和石油，将孩子放在里头，把箱子搁在河边的芦荻中。
And　when　she　could　not　longer　hide　him；　she　took　for　him　an　ark　of　bulrushes；　and　daubed　it　with　slime　and　with　pitch；　and　put　the　child　therein；　and　she　laid　it　in　the　flags　by　the　river's　brink。
2：4孩子的姊姊远远站着，要知道他究竟怎吗样。
And　his　sister　stood　afar　off；　to　wit　what　would　be　done　to　him。
2：5法老的女儿来到河边洗澡，她的使女们在河边行走。她看见箱子在芦荻中，就打发一个婢女拿来。
And　the　daughter　of　Pharaoh　came　down　to　wash　herself　at　the　river；　and　her　maidens　walked　along　by　the　river's　side；　and　when　she　saw　the　ark　among　the　flags；　she　sent　her　maid　to　fetch　it。
2：6她打开箱子，看见那孩子。孩子哭了，她就可怜他，说，这是希伯来人的一个孩子。
And　when　she　had　opened　it；　she　saw　the　child：　and；　behold；　the　babe　wept。　And　she　had　passion　on　him；　and　said；　This　is　one　of　the　Hebrews'　children。
2：7孩子的姊姊对法老的女儿说，我去在希伯来妇人中叫一个奶妈来，为你奶这孩子，可以不可以。
Then　said　his　sister　to　Pharaoh's　daughter；　Shall　I　go　and　call　to　thee　a　nurse　of　the　Hebrew　women；　that　she　may　nurse　the　child　for　thee？
2：8法老的女儿说，可以。童女就去叫了孩子的母亲来。
And　Pharaoh's　daughter　said　to　her；　Go。　And　the　maid　went　and　called　the　child's　mother。
2：9法老的女儿对她说，你把这孩子抱去，为我奶他，我必给你工价。妇人就抱了孩子去奶他。
And　Pharaoh's　daughter　said　unto　her；　Take　this　child　away；　and　nurse　it　for　me；　and　I　will　give　thee　thy　wages。　And　the　woman　took　the　child；　and　nursed　it。
2：10孩子渐长，妇人把他带到法老的女儿那里，就作了她的儿子。她给孩子起名叫摩西，意思说，因我把他从水里拉出来。
And　the　child　grew；　and　she　brought　him　unto　Pharaoh's　daughter；　and　he　became　her　son。　And　she　called　his　name　Moses：　and　she　said；　Because　I　drew　him　out　of　the　water。
2：11后来，摩西长大，他出去到他弟兄那里，看他们的重担，见一个埃及人打希伯来人的一个弟兄。
And　it　came　to　pass　in　those　days；　when　Moses　was　grown；　that　he　went　out　unto　his　brethren；　and　looked　on　their　burdens：　and　he　spied　an　Egyptian　smiting　an　Hebrew；　one　of　his　brethren。
2：12他左右观看，见没有人，就把埃及人打死了，藏在沙土里。
And　he　looked　this　way　and　that　way；　and　when　he　saw　that　there　was　no　man；　he　slew　the　Egyptian；　and　hid　him　in　the　sand。
2：13第二天他出去，见有两个希伯来人争斗，就对那欺负人的说，你为什么打你同族的人呢。
And　when　he　went　out　the　second　day；　behold；　two　men　of　the　Hebrews　strove　together：　and　he　said　to　him　that　did　the　wrong；　Wherefore　smitest　thou　thy　fellow？
2：14那人说，谁立你作我们的首领和审判官呢，难道你要杀我，像杀那埃及人吗。摩西便惧怕，说，这事必是被人知道了。
And　he　said；　Who　made　thee　a　prince　and　a　judge　over　us？　intendest　thou　to　kill　me；　as　thou　killedst　the　Egyptian？　And　Moses　feared；　and　said；　Surely　this　thing　is　known。
2：15法老听见这事，就想杀摩西，但摩西躲避法老，逃往米甸地居住。
Now　when　Pharaoh　heard　this　thing；　he　sought　to　slay　Moses。　But　Moses　fled　from　the　face　of　Pharaoh；　and　dwelt　in　the　land　of　Midian：　and　he　sat　down　by　a　well。
2：16一日，他在井旁坐下。米甸的祭司有七个女儿，她们来打水，打满了槽，要饮父亲的群羊。
Now　the　priest　of　Midian　had　seven　daughters：　and　they　came　and　drew　water；　and　filled　the　troughs　to　water　their　father's　flock。
2：17有牧羊的人来，把她们赶走了，摩西却起来帮助她们，又饮了她们的群羊。
And　the　shepherds　came　and　drove　them　away：　but　Moses　stood　up　and　helped　them；　and　watered　their　flock。
2：18她们来到父亲流珥那里，他说，今日你们为何来得这吗快呢。
And　when　they　came　to　Reuel　their　father；　he　said；　How　is　it　that　ye　are　e　so　soon　to　day？
2：19她们说，有一个埃及人救我们脱离牧羊人的手，并且为我们打水饮了群羊。
And　they　said；　An　Egyptian　delivered　us　out　of　the　hand　of　the　shepherds；　and　also　drew　water　enough　for　us；　and　watered　the　flock。
2：20他对女儿们说，那个人在哪里，你们为什么撇下他呢。你们去请他来吃饭。
And　he　said　unto　his　daughters；　And　where　is　he？　why　is　it　that　ye　have　left　the　man？　call　him；　that　he　may　eat　bread。
2：21摩西甘心和那人同住，那人把他的女儿西坡拉给摩西为妻。
And　Moses　was　content　to　dwell　with　the　man：　and　he　gave　Moses　Zipporah　his　daughter。
2：22西坡拉生了一个儿子，摩西给他起名叫革舜，意思说，因我在外邦作了寄居的。
And　she　bare　him　a　son；　and　he　called　his　name　Gershom：　for　he　said；　I　have　been　a　stranger　in　a　strange　land。
2：23过了多年，埃及王死了。以色列人因作苦工，就叹息哀求，他们的哀声达于神。
And　it　came　to　pass　in　process　of　time；　that　the　king　of　Egypt　died：　and　the　children　of　Israel　sighed　by　reason　of　the　bondage；　and　they　cried；　and　their　cry　came　up　unto　God　by　reason　of　the　bondage。
2：24神听见他们的哀声，就记念他与亚伯拉罕，以撒，雅各所立的约。
And　God　heard　their　groaning；　and　God　remembered　his　covenant　with　Abraham；　with　Isaac；　and　with　Jacob。
2：25神看顾以色列人，也知道他们的苦情。
And　God　looked　upon　the　children　of　Israel；　and　God　had　respect　unto　them。

3：1摩西牧养他岳父米甸祭司叶忒罗的羊群，一日领羊群往野外去，到了神的山，就是何烈山。
Now　Moses　kept　the　flock　of　Jethro　his　father　in　law；　the　priest　of　Midian：　and　he　led　the　flock　to　the　backside　of　the　desert；　and　came　to　the　mountain　of　God；　even　to　Horeb。
3：2耶和华的使者从荆棘里火焰中向摩西显现。摩西观看，不料，荆棘被火烧着，却没有烧毁。
And　the　angel　of　the　LORD　appeared　unto　him　in　a　flame　of　fire　out　of　the　midst　of　a　bush：　and　he　looked；　and；　behold；　the　bush　burned　with　fire；　and　the　bush　was　not　consumed。
3：3摩西说，我要过去看这大异象，这荆棘为何没有烧坏呢。
And　Moses　said；　I　will　now　turn　aside；　and　see　this　great　sight；　why　the　bush　is　not　burnt。
3：4耶和华神见他过去要看，就从荆棘里呼叫说，摩西，摩西。他说，我在这里。
And　when　the　LORD　saw　that　he　turned　aside　to　see；　God　called　unto　him　out　of　the　midst　of　the　bush；　and　said；　Moses；　Moses。　And　he　said；　Here　am　I。
3：5神说，不要近前来。当把你脚上的鞋脱下来，因为你所站之地是圣地。
And　he　said；　Draw　not　nigh　hither：　put　off　thy　shoes　from　off　thy　feet；　for　the　place　whereon　thou　standest　is　holy　ground。
3：6又说，我是你父亲的神，是亚伯拉罕的神，以撒的神，雅各的神。摩西蒙上脸，因为怕看神。
Moreover　he　said；　I　am　the　God　of　thy　father；　the　God　of　Abraham；　the　God　of　Isaac；　and　the　God　of　Jacob。　And　Moses　hid　his　face；　for　he　was　afraid　to　look　upon　God。
3：7耶和华说，我的百姓在埃及所受的困苦，我实在看见了，他们因受督工的辖制所发的哀声，我也听见了。我原知道他们的痛苦，
And　the　LORD　said；　I　have　surely　seen　the　affliction　of　my　people　which　are　in　Egypt；　and　have　heard　their　cry　by　reason　of　their　taskmasters；　for　I　know　their　sorrows；
3：8我下来是要救他们脱离埃及人的手，领他们出了那地，，到美好，宽阔，流奶与蜜之地，就是到迦南人，赫人，亚摩利人，比利洗人，希未人，耶布斯人之地。
And　I　am　e　down　to　deliver　them　out　of　the　hand　of　the　Egyptians；　and　to　bring　them　up　out　of　that　land　unto　a　good　land　and　a　large；　unto　a　land　flowing　with　milk　and　honey；　unto　the　place　of　the　Canaanites；　and　the　Hittites；　and　the　Amorites；　and　the　Perizzites；　and　the　Hivites；　and　the　Jebusites。
3：9现在以色列人的哀声达到我耳中，我也看见埃及人怎样欺压他们。
Now　therefore；
